Apple Releases New Apple Watch Series: Series 11, SE 3, and Ultra 3
At its Fall 2025 event, Apple officially launched its next-generation smartwatches—the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch SE 3, and Apple Watch Ultra 3. This update continues Apple's continued improvements to hardware durability and battery life, while also bringing groundbreaking innovations in health features, particularly chronic hypertension detection and native sleep scoring.
Apple Watch Series 11: A Major Breakthrough in Health
The Series 11 is Apple's mid-range model for the mass market, and its biggest highlight comes from updated health monitoring software.
Key Highlights:
Hypertension Detection: Using an optical heart rate sensor, the watch analyzes the blood vessels' response to heartbeats over 30 days to identify signs of chronic hypertension. If long-term abnormalities are detected, the watch will alert the user to consult a doctor. This feature has been validated in clinical trials involving over 2,000 people but is still awaiting approval from the FDA and other regulatory agencies. Notably, this feature will be rolled out to Apple Watch Series 9, Series 10, and Ultra 2 users via watchOS 26, and existing users will also benefit.
Native Sleep Score: Apple debuts its first official Sleep Score system, trained on over 5 million nights of data. It provides an intuitive score from 0-100, broken down into metrics such as duration, sleep stages, and consistency, to help users better optimize their sleep quality.
Hardware:
The aluminum model features a new ceramic-coated Ion-X glass, which is twice as scratch-resistant as the Series 10; the high-end titanium model retains a sapphire crystal screen.
Battery life is increased to 24 hours, a significant improvement from the previous 18 hours.
New colors are available, including Space Gray (aluminum) and Slate Gray with a gold-finished titanium version.
The Series 11 starts at $399 and is available for pre-order now, with availability starting September 19th. For those seeking personalization, iWatch 11 Bands offer a wide range of styles to match both casual and professional looks.
Apple Watch SE 3: A major upgrade for the budget model
The third-generation SE is an excellent value entry-level model, but this update significantly narrows the gap with the flagship model.
Key upgrades:
Always-on display: Allows users to check the time and apps without raising their wrist, a breakthrough for the SE series.
Health sensor upgrades: A new temperature sensor enables female health features (such as ovulation prediction) and, for the first time, supports sleep apnea detection and native sleep scoring.
S10 chip: Delivers faster performance and support for advanced features, including on-device Siri, double-tap/gesture controls, and 5G cellular.
Fast charging: Charges twice as fast, delivering 8 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes, significantly improving the sleep tracking experience.
New speaker: Inherited from the Series and Ultra series, offering improved sound quality and functionality.
Apple Watch SE 3 starts at $249 and also goes on sale September 19th. For entry-level buyers, iWatch Bands Se 3 provide stylish and affordable customization options.
Apple Watch Ultra 3: New safety for the extreme outdoors
As a high-end flagship, the Ultra series has long been known for its professional outdoor features and durability. The Ultra 3 retains its design as its predecessor, but new features enhance its outdoor safety and battery life.
Key Highlights:
Satellite Connectivity: Allows you to send emergency SOS messages, leave messages to friends and family, and share your location with Find My even when cellular and Wi-Fi signals are unavailable. This makes the Ultra 3 an essential safety device for extreme sports like hiking, mountaineering, and trail running.
Larger Display: Featuring the largest screen ever on an Apple Watch, it uses an upgraded LTPO3 wide-angle OLED with a 1Hz refresh rate to conserve power.
Extended Battery Life: Standard battery life has been increased from 36 hours to 42 hours, making it more reliable for multi-day hikes or extended outdoor activities.
Full Health Features: Includes all the new health features of Series 11, including high blood pressure detection and native sleep scoring.
Starting at $799, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is available in natural titanium and black titanium. It will be available on September 19th. Outdoor enthusiasts can further personalize their devices with durable iWatch Bands Ultra 3 designed for extreme environments.
